Sub 4 Me (2019 London)

“When they ask me, “What are you looking at?” I always answer, “Nothing much, not much”

In 2016 the VAC (Victorian Aids Council) now re-named Thorne Harbour Health, commissioned me to create 6 themed images for the Company Of Men photographic exhibition. The project was called the “Down and Dirty” series and this was the image I made for Viral Load.

The qoute is from the song “Left of Center” by Suzanne Vega. I don’t like to explain my art but I can say there is the obvious play on the word “load” with the image of a pick-up truck loaded full of excited boys. I also wanted to show the isolotion a mans fate can create even when surrounded by other men.

All photographs are printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl – A slightly textured surface with a silky sheen. Its enormous depth and precise contrast make it great for both colour and black and white prints.
