I posted that article along with a cover letter to several CEO’s and the next day I received a phone call from a lovey lady named Laura from FedEx UK complaints department. She apologised for what had happened to me and said she would personally look into my situation.

She found it was still with a woman in France, which it had been sent to incorrectly. Within 2 weeks I had my container with me in my apartment. It was busted up and water-logged but it was back with me. I had to chuck 4 books away but everything else was salvageable. Things that money couldn’t replace and meant a great deal to me.

FedEx customer service is still a shit show and if I hadn’t taken upon myself to escalate the issue to the top floor I would not have got my container. A happy ending thanks to my BF, John Maley, who went out of his way to advise and help me, and Laura.
